Each year BLNWR holds a Logo contest among the students of participating classes (grades Kindergarten thru 6) through out the Roswell, Artesia, Dexter and Hagerman area.   It is the teacher's choice whether or not their class participates.  
The number of submitted drawings has range from several hundred to well over 800.  There are prizes awarded to the winners in each class.  The grand prize winner's picture is the logo for that year's Festival.    Winners are selected by a panel of volunteers, that have included members of the Friends of BLNWR and local artists.
