Sympetrum corruptum
"Variegated Meadowhawk"
Sympetrum corruptum – "Variegated Meadowhawk" of the Family Libellulidae, a wide-ranging species having transparent wings with red veins and stigma. The considerably stout abdomen is colored olive green with dark, lateral spots. The nymphs are stocky and inhabit the mud on the bottom of ponds. This dragonfly is found along sheltered areas of ponds, probably in all counties of New Mexico.
