Newman, Jr. in August 1950. He was executed on or near Hill 303 by the NKA along with 40 other POW's. He wrote that he had been in Korea since August and gave a detailed account of how he another sergeant and a Lieutenant tried to escape but were captured. The Lieutenant was exicuted. I believe it was in the first few days of November 1950. In his diary he wrote how the three of them made a promise to see the others folks should one or the other not make it. I would like very much to keep that promise on my uncles behalf should Lt.Cecil Newman be the same Lieutenant my uncle fought with. If he is,any and all information I have I will share with you.
